Walnut Creek

Walnut Creek is one of the largest cities in Contra Costa County and sits 16 miles east of Oakland along Interstate 680 and Highway 24. Its active downtown features hundred-year-old buildings and an extensive shopping district with high-end retail establishments.

Walnut Creek owns more open space per capita than any other community in the state of California and owns part of Lime Ridge Open Space, Shell Ridge Open Space, Acalanes Ridge Open Space, and SugarLoaf Open Space. The primary residential neighborhoods that attract the lion’s share of single family home buyers include Larkey Park, Saranap, Northgate, and Lakewood/South Walnut Creek.

Saranap

While homes in Saranap have an address of Walnut Creek, some streets are part of the city of Lafayette school district and the entire area is part of Acalanes High School District (Acalanes & Las Lomas High School). The quiet tree lined streets and flexibility to both Walnut Creek and Lamorinda schools make Saranap a very desirable neighborhood.
